International Korczak meeting in Mannheim

30th anniversary of the German JK Association
Symposium in Mannheim, Germany,
Oct. 26-28, 2007

Janusz Korczak by Isaac Belfer, a sculpture erected in Gunsburg
In 1977, the German Korczak Association was founded by Erich Dauzenroth and other like-minded people in Gießen / Germany. On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the German Korczak Association has the honour to invite to acelebration meeting in Mannheim.

A part from the lectures being held, there will be enough room for cultural events and for an exchange of ideas. That is the reason why the invitation to our celebration meeting does not only include members of the German Korczak Association, but also representatives and members of the International Korczak Association.

A special attraction of the celebration meeting will be the exhibition of the Israeli sculptor and painter Itzchak Belfer, one of the last living children of the orphanage in Krochmalna Street 92 in Warsaw. We are proud to say that the artist himself will be present, too.

The meeting will be held under the patronage of the president of the Central Association of Jews in Germany, Mrs Charlotte Knobloch, and the Consul of Culture in the General Consulate of Poland, Mrs. Grazyna Strzelcka.
